About This Walk
This spectacular coastal walk takes you along the famous Seven Sisters chalk cliffs between Seaford and Eastbourne. The route follows the South Downs Way, undulating over each of the seven cliff peaks with breathtaking views of the English Channel. The white chalk cliffs are among the most photographed landscapes in England. The walk passes through the Cuckmere Haven valley and the charming village of Birling Gap.

Step-by-Step Directions

Start at Seaford Head car park and head east along the cliff path.
- 2
Descend to Cuckmere Haven and cross the valley floor.

Climb up to the first of the Seven Sisters — Haven Brow.

Continue along the undulating cliff tops, crossing each sister.

Descend to Birling Gap for refreshments.
- 6
Continue to Beachy Head or arrange transport from Birling Gap.

- Cliff edges — stay away from the edge, cliffs are prone to collapse
